Czech Crystal Glass

Everyone has heard of Swarovski's Austrian Crystal, but what, exactly is Czech crystal glass? Czech crystal is a glass that is made in present-day Czechoslovakia, or the Czech Republic. Czech crystal is in fact, much older in origin than Swarovski's. Prior to the formation of the country of Czechoslovakia, the entire region was known as Bohemia. In that region, the products made there were known as Bohemian crystal, or Bohemian glass.
Glass has been made in the Czech region since the early Bronze Age. At that time, the area was primarily occupied by the Celts. The glass-making tradition continued through to the Benedictine Monks, who used it to produce religious items such as drinking glasses adorned with beads, rosaries, and adornments in cathedrals.

Some Secrets to Buying a Diamond

If diamonds are a woman's best friend then why does the man have to buy them? Most men are not familiar with the fine details of diamond characteristics and value. Making such a large purchase without any experience or knowing who to trust can make diamond shopping a daunting task.

What your jeweler will not tell you is the single most important diamond trait which determines value and brilliance. The rarely mentioned yet most important detail is a diamond's depth percentage. A diamond cut to the ideal depth percentage will reflect substantially more light known as brilliance or fire. A diamond with the same color and clarity may appear dull and boring compared to a diamond with an ideal depth percentage.

Diamonds are often cut either too shallow or too deep in order to save diamond mass which results in a dull appearance and cheaper cost.

 Vinegar
Vinegar is such a wonderful, economical and environmentally friendly cleaning product. It's available by the gallon and is cheaper than smelly, harsh chemical-based cleaning products. White vinegar has, literally, hundreds of uses, many of which involve cleaning. Vinegar deodorizes, cuts grease and soap scum, and dissolves mineral buildup.
